Zydus Cadilla awaits DCGI's nod for Emergency Use Authorization; vaccine for 12 years & Above

It is now being reported that Zydus Cadilla has now applied for Emergency Use Authorization to the Drug Controller General of India for its vaccine. Zydus is now waiting for DCGI's nod for its COVID vaccine for children above the age of 12 years and above. Zydus Cadilla has concluded its phase three trials and has now reached the DCGI for emergency use. India currently has only 3 vaccines, which can be administered to 18 years and above. The fact that the third wave of COVID is likely to impact the children the most, vaccine makers and the country is gearing up and is now developing vaccines for children as well.
