For more than a couple of days now, there has been a constant comparison made between former Manchester United player Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Los Angeles Football Club’s Carlos Vela. Ibra hit out at the media for comparing him with the Vela and said he is the best player by far in the MLS. So here’s how it all started. Zlatan has made 45 appearances for LA Galaxy since the time he got transferred to the club and has netted 35 goals with 10 assists. But despite this, he is not amongst the top five goal scorers of MLS. Superman at 37! A reporter from ESPN asked Zlatan he still thought he was the best player in the US in spite of Vela's insurgency, Zlatan replied: "By far, because if he's in his prime. How old is he? Twenty-nine. And he's playing in MLS and he's in his prime. When I was 29 [I was in Europe]. Big difference." Yesterday even Carlos addressed the press and said that it would be an insult to compare him to Zlatan but if you go by the stats regardless of the age, he is better than Zlatan. Vela has scored 19 goals in 19 games this season, while Ibrahimovic has bagged 16 goals in 17 games for LA Galaxy.

Yesterday, Zlatan during the game against Los Angeles Football Club scored hattrick and led the team to a 3-2 victory. However, that wasn’t enough to match to the Vale’s tally of 21 goals in the season so far. After the match, he once again slammed the press and said that comparing him to Vela was the biggest mistake. As of now, LA Galaxy stands on number of the MLS 2019 points table with 37 points. Los Angeles Football Club leads the table with 46 points. Seattle Sounders FC stands on number three with 35 points.
