In a shocking revelation, a viral YouTube video shows the keenness of the UK Royal commentators sharing their ‘expertise’ on the recent explosive interview of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with Oprah Winfrey. The only twist is that the experts gave their views when the interview wasn’t aired yet. YouTuber Josh Pieters and Archie Manners successfully tricked these “experts” to talk about the candid conversation of the trio. The video was released on Youtube with the tagline, “We Proved Royal Experts Lie About Harry and Meghan.”

The video was shot on March 5, two days before the actual interview was to be aired. The four experts were told that their opinions would be on air immediately after the release of the actual interview. However, it didn’t quite matter to them what the Prince and his wife had to say in real, beyond their assumptions. The experts’ panel comprised Queen’s former press secretary Dickie Arbiter, the editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward, and royal commentators Richard Fitzwilliams and Victoria Arbiter.

“In the interview, to my mind, this was an actress giving one of her great performances,” said Seward in the video, adding “From start to finish, Meghan was acting.” Two of the experts also added, “Oprah is a friend who gave them an easy ride. She was totally sympathetic, and there was a great deal in it that the palace will find deeply concerning.” Manners later revealed that none of the experts restrained from voicing out their opinions, given it is their job to give draw insights from the royal affairs.

“I suppose what we were putting to the test was, given that they influence public opinion, and particularly at a time where public opinion is so divided on this issue, whether they had any insights worth listening to,” he said.

Towards the end of the video Manners also highlighted the main purpose of the prank. The video is meant to draw public attention to “at these commentators who are shaping public opinion”. However, it’s always up to the viewers to decide what to believe and what not to.

As soon as the video was shared on the social media platform, netizens filled the comments section with the hypocrisy ingrained in these experts, who were quick with their reactions without even learning the actual truth. The video has been viewed over 7 lakh times. Earlier, Meghan Markle had suggested that Buckingham Palace was “perpetuating falsehoods” about her and Prince Harry, in a clip from an upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey released by CBS late Wednesday.
