Youth should get skill training as per needs in villages: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan) July 06 (ANI): In a review meeting of Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC), Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that in the years to come demand for plumbers, electricians and fitters will increase in rural areas. In view of this, RSLDC should provide skills training to more and more rural youth in the courses like plumber, electrician or fitter etc. If required, additional training centres should be opened to impart training to youth. The CM stressed that targets should be fixed to provide employment opportunities to more and more youth and for this, better coordination should be established between various departments. Besides, he directed for time-bound implementation and adequate monitoring of the budget announcements. The CM said that RSLDC should select the training partner firms after thorough investigation of available infrastructure and facilities needed for skill development. It should be ensured that the training partner provides placements to the trained youth as per the numbers prescribed in the conditions of MoU. During the meeting, CM Gehlot also praised the scheme initiated for eradication of begging by linking beggars to employment through various skill training. He said that in order to make the cities free from begging practices, this scheme should be scaled-up to all districts of the state.
