The Congress has launched a campaign in favour of students, demanding cancellation of exams during the pandemic and urging their promotion. University Grants Commission has issued revised guidelines ordering the holding of final-year university exams by September-end.
Accusing the University Grants Commission (UGC) of creating confusion, Gandhi said it is unfair to conduct examinations during the COVID-19 pandemic and the UGC should listen to the voice of students.
The National Students' Union of India, the student wing of the Congress party is also demanding that ‘no fees should be charged for 6 months’, given the economic distress suffered during the COVID-19 lockdown.
