In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdown, the Maharashtra government has announced that it will allow liquor shops to provide home delivery services subject to conditions for both the buyer and the seller. The Supreme Court has also earlier weighed in and left the decision open for States to consider online sales and home delivery of liquor during the COVID-19 lockdown period to facilitate social distancing.
