Young driver charred to death in truck collision in Rajasthan

Kota (Rajasthan), Apr 6 (PTI) A 22-year-old driver was burned to death after two trucks caught fire following a collision here on Tuesday, police said.

Shouken, a resident of Hindoli town in Bundi district, died after two trucks, one loaded with marbles and the other with fruits, caught fire following a head-on collusion around 2.30 am on Kota-Jhalawar road, Sub-Inspector at Udhyog Nagar Police Station, Mohammed Ibrahim said.

After the collision, Shouken got stuck in the cabin and was charred to death. The helper in the truck managed to jump out of the vehicle and sustained minor injuries in the process, he added.

The truck was reportedly heading to Odessa after loading marbles from Rajsamand.

The driver and the helper in the other truck escaped from the spot after the accident, Ibrahim said.

Shouken's body was handed over to his family members later on Tuesday after a post-mortem and a case has been lodged for further investigation into the matter, he added. PTI CORR MA HDA
