Pricing specifics of Xiaomi's Redmi Pro successor have leaked online suggesting the alleged Redmi Pro 2 may come in two variants. According to a report , the Redmi Pro 2 will start at CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs 15,000) and go all the way to CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs16,900). The Redmi Pro 2 will reportedly be available in two versions: 4GB RAM/ 64GB memory and 6GB RAM/128GB memory.
As per previous leaks, the Redmi Pro 2 will reportedly come with an OLED display and a MediaTek Helio P25 processor under the hood. The phone will reportedly come with two 12-megapixel cameras on the rear and a 4,500mAh battery inside.
The Redmi Pro, from last year, comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD OLED display and is available in two processor variants. While the top-end variant comes with MediaTek's 10-core Helio X25 (clocked at 2.5GHz), Xiaomi also sells a lesser variant with Helio X20. At the same time, two RAM variants and three memory variants are on offer. The Redmi Pro powered by Helio X20 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Meanwhile, the Helio X25 version is available in 3GB RAM/64GB memory and 4GB RAM/128GB memory configurations.
All the variants support expandable storage via hybrid card slot. The phone supports 4G LTE (VoLTE-ready) and runs Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 7.
The USP of the Redmi Pro is however said to be its dual-camera setup on the rear. The dual-camera setup consists of primary 13-megapixel and secondary 5-megapixel camera. Xiaomi claims the setup can capture outstanding DSLR-quality bokeh. It essentially allows the user to capture an image first and adjust the depth of field later.
Although launch details of the Redmi Pro 2 are scarce as of the moment, Xiaomi is all set to launch the flagship Mi 6 phone in China on April 19.
