Having launched a number of devices with support for Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0 platform, >Xiaomi has finally launched an adapter which supports Qualcomm's fast-charging standard.
The company has been launching smartphones which supports >QuickCharge 3.0 but was not selling an adapter in the country until now. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Mi Max 2, Mi A1 and even budget-oriented devices like the Redmi Y1 come with support for Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0. The Qualcomm certified adapter has been launched at a price of Rs 499 on the company's e-commerce site Mi.com.
The company was so far only selling their standard 5V-2A charger on their e-commerce website and have now introduced the new 9V-2A adapter. As per a post on Xiaomi's community forum, the adapter supports a power output of 5 V-3 A, 9 V-2 A or 12 V-1.5 A and can withstand voltage surges up to 380 V. The difference in price between the standard adapter and the QuickCharge 3.0-supported adapter is also incremental.
Xiaomi states that the adapter also has automatic temperature control, which tries to keep the charger below 30 degrees Celsius while in use. The adapter is available in only one colour and is currently available only on Mi.com and Mi Home outlets. View More
