WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry 'The King Lawler Challenges Newly Crowned WWE Champion The Miz for Rematch

·2-min read

In a rather unpredictable turn of events, WWE Hall Of Fame wrestler Jerry “The King” Lawler challenged WWE Champion, The Miz for a Championship rematch. This is not the first time that he is doing something like this. Back in 2011, The King had challenged The Miz for the WWE Championship title and had lost the same against him. A decade later, he can be seen doing exactly the same thing. This time, the difference is that he has announced his challenge through social media. In his post on Twitter, he has retweeted a clip of their previous match which happened over a decade ago. In the video, one can clearly see that The King has an upper hand, as he hits The Miz multiple times and is also able to neutralise his attempts to attack.

Previously, when this match had happened at WWE title back at Elimination Chamber 2011, The King and The Miz were in full form. In the high energy match, The King had used his patented Diving Fist Drop on The Miz. Despite that, The Miz was able to put his foot on the bottom rope making The King’s pinfall void. Later, The Miz was able to take things in his stride and performed a Skull Crushing Finale on The King.

This challenge comes a day after The Miz won the WWE Champion title at the WWE Elimination Chamber 2021. He had given a bit of a shocker to his fans after he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Drew McIntyre. However, this is not a new thing for him as he had the exact same thing in 2010 when he had won the title after defeating Randy Orton. The matches in the WWE Elimination Chamber are held for four titles, including WWE Title, WWE Women’s Tag Team Title, United States Champion and the Universal Title.
