World's heaviest woman loses weight: from 500 kg to 400 kg

The world’s heaviest living woman, Eman Ahmed Abd El Aty, has lost 100 kilos in just 25 days and also undergone successful weight reduction surgery.

The Egyptian woman weighed 500 kilos when she came to India last month seeking a medical procedure that would reduce her appetite and help her shed the flab.

On Tuesday, doctors in Mumbai perfomed the surgery on Eman and pre- and post-operative photos show a visible difference in her appearance.

“Eman successfully underwent a Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy on March 7th 2017. She had an uneventful surgery and anesthesia course. She is now on oral fluids and accepting them well. The future course of action for the medical team working on her will be to correct all her associated medical problems, to get her fit enough to fly back to Egypt as soon as possible,” doctors who treated her were quoted as saying by India Today.

Doctors plan to make Eman lose at least 100 more kilos (200 kg in total) over the next 6 months and are surprised at the rapid rate with which the patient is shedding pounds.

Eman will soon be back in Alexandria and kept under observation until she returns to India for the next procedure.
