The United States thrashed Thailand 13-0 on Tuesday to record the biggest-ever win at the Women's World Cup.

Alex Morgan scored five goals as the holders romped to victory at the Stade Auguste-Delaune in Reims, leaving at least one Thai player in tears.

Morgan's five goals equal the record held by Michelle Akers, her fellow American, who scored the same number against Chinese Taipei in 1991.

Rose Lavelle and Sam Mewis both scored braces, while Lindsay Horan, Megan Rapinoe, Mal Pugh and Carli Loyd all added their names to the scoresheet.
