The White House released First Lady Melania Trump’s official portrait on Monday. And to no one’s surprise, there was absolutely no dearth of buzz created by the photograph.
With a hint of a smile and crossed arms, Melania is dressed in a black jacket and is wearing a huge diamond ring – altogether, making for a perfect social media uproar.
Is the photo airbrushed? Does the gaze seem too distant? What about the fact that Melania Trump doesn’t even live in the White House?
These were some of the questions and assumptions doing the rounds on social media right after the White House released the photo. While some stood up for her, others were upset about quite a few things. Take a look!
Anyone know why Melania Trump's portrait was taken in front of the Muppet Babies Window? pic.twitter.com/EOLfwfBggE— Sasha Stewart (@ArtfulStew) April 3, 2017
Melania's White House portrait is beautiful and will make an excellent conversation piece if she ever happens to visit the White House.— Nick Amadeus (@NickAmadeus) April 3, 2017
Melania's portrait is more airbrushed than a 70's custom van with a wizard on a cloud painted on it— Karl (@JerryMander) April 5, 2017
Quit saying Melania's blurry portrait was Photoshopped. That's sexist & uncool.— Noah Kinsey (@thenoahkinsey) April 4, 2017
Maybe her photographer's the one who takes pics of Bigfoot. pic.twitter.com/aCs6x3EP61
