West Indies vs Pakistan 2nd T20I: Shadab Khan leads Pakistan to win

Port Of Spain, Mar 31: Shadab Khan again turned up with a match-winning bowling performance as Pakistan sneaked though a three-run win over West Indies in the second T20I on Thursday.

Pakistan set a modest total of 133 to win for the hosts but could manage only 129 for 8 after losing the first match by six wickets. This was West Indies’ fifth successive T20I defeat against Pakistan.

The visitors now have an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the four-match series. After an impressive international debut, Shadab put the West Indies in a spin by snaring 4 for 14. The big wicket for the spinner was of dangerous Marlon Samuels (44), who could have taken the game away from Pakistan.

Put in to bat after Brathwaite won the toss, Pakistan struggled to score off spinners Sunil Narine and Samuel Badree.

Narine returned with 3 for 22 and Badree 2 for 14. (SCORECARD)

But Pakistan batting on a dry pitch still managed to put up a competitive total on the board, thanks to the ninth-wicket partnership between Wahab Riaz and Shadab.

The visitors were on the backfoot from the first over when Kamran Akmal was bowled by Badree without a score on the board. After that it was a struggle for Pakistan with a 41-run for the second wicket between Babar Azam and opener Ahmed Shehzad.

From that point on they laboured despite a 41-run stand for the second wicket between Babar Azam and opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad.

However Riaz and Shadab batted brilliantly and added 45 runs in the last five overs to give Pakistan a chance to bowl at.
