The war of words between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Governor Jagdeep Dhankar has escalated again. This time, the dispute surged because of the Government’s interference in the BJP MP Arjun Singh’s case which is currently under scanner over the alleged misappropriation funds of a Co-operative bank.
CM Mamata Banerjee wrote to the Governor expressing her grievances and disillusion over his letter to the Kolkata Director General of Police. Governor Dhankar even acknowledged it. In the letter, she stated ‘I am thus writing to you to express my deep pain and anguish at the excessive and blatant attempt at (the) usurpation of constitutional mandates and unwarranted excesses on your part’.
