West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s massive roadshow ahead of state elections

Ahead of voting for the fifth phase of elections in West Bengal on 17th April 2021, Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee and Trinamool Congress hold a massive roadshow from Gandhi Bhawan in Beleghata to Bowbazar in Kolkata. Mamta Banerjee begins her rally by paying tribute to the deceased from the Cooch Behar, calling them martyrs. On the other hand, BJP criticized her on calling the deceased “martyrs”, BJP alleged that those who were killed were not martyrs but rioters who were attacking the central forces. Midst of the increasing Covid cases, the Trinamool congress believes that this roadshow is basically to mark and celebrate the Bengali New year- Poila Baishak. But, the big question here is that whether such campaigns are worth amidst this rising number of covid-19 cases.
