West Bengal Assembly passes resolution to set up Legislative Council

The West Bengal assembly has passed a resolution to bring in a legislative council in the state. 69 votes were against the bill and 196 were in favor out of 294 seats. The TMC leaders said that the bill already exists in six other states, so it must also be in West Bengal. The resolution will now move to the parliament and center to get approval by the two houses, BJP being in majority in the Rajya Sabha.
