Nandigram (West Bengal), Mar 30 (ANI): As the battle for Nandigram reaches fever pitch, TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held an eight-kilometre ‘padyatra’ on wheelchair in Bhagabeda on March 30. Dola sen, TMC leader, said, “Let BJP come and say anything they want. It’s a democratic country, we don’t care. In 2007, Nandigram movement, many marches were led by martyrs. No BJP was here at that time they have no idea about Nandigram. Mamata lives in the hearts of public and public lives in the heart of Mamata.” Mamata is contesting against Suvendu Adhikari, the BJP candidate for Nandigram constituency. The Bengal Assembly Elections are scheduled to be done in eight phases, the first phase of polling concluded.
