New Delhi: TDP MPs may be complaining of not being heard in Parliament, but one MP made sure he did not go unnoticed outside the House.
Dressed as a tantrik and armed with a wooden pellet rattle, Chittoor MP N Sivaprasad joined his party colleagues in performing a ‘puja’ outside Parliament for a special package to Andhra Pradesh. Chanting ‘mantras’ and aping the body language of a tantric, Sivaprasad said the “lord” had sent a message for Prime Minister Narendra Modi through him.
“The PM is playing with the public of Andhra Pradesh. We advise him not to play with Gods. He promised a lot of things, but has forgotten everything. So we are questioning him now. The Lord asked me to tell Modi to be careful about the assurances he gives,” Sivaprasad told CNN-News18.
This is not the first time the MP has staged such a unique protest. In 2016, Sivaprasad turned up in Parliament donning a shirt with pictures of wailing farmers on one side and rich businessmen on the other to demand for farm loan waivers.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minster Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP, a constituent of the ruling NDA, has been protesting in and outside Parliament for the last week, expressing anger the lack of sops for the state in Union Budget 2018.
