Sasikala, close aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, was released from jail on January 27, after serving a four-year jail term. She had been convicted in a disproportionate assets case, and incarcerated at Parappana Agrahara central jail in Karnataka's Bengaluru. She had been ousted from Jayalalithaa's party AIADMK in 2017. She was set to be the CM before she was convicted and jailed. The development comes just months before Assembly elections in the state. Watch the full video for more.
