Prez Kovind, PM Modi Attend Beating Retreat Ceremony in New Delhi

Three days after India celebrated the 70th Republic Day, the streets of the national capital were once again lit up on Tuesday, 29 January, for the ‘Beating Retreat’ ceremony at Vijay Chowk. Pesident Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ceremony in the capital.

Bands from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, State Police and Central Armed Police Force are participating in the ceremony.

Every year on 29 January, the ‘Beating Retreat’ ceremony is held in New Delhi to mark the culmination of the four-day-long Republic Day celebrations.

Traffic Movement Slowed Down

Commuters have complained about delays and traffic restrictions ahead of the Beating Retreat ceremony in Lutyens' Delhi on Tuesday.

Movement of vehicles on parts of Rafi Marg, Raisina Road, Krishna Menon Marg, 'C' Hexagon and Dara Shikoh Road have been restricted.
