Watch S Janaki's last song Ammapoovinum from Malayalam movie 10 Kalpanakal

Versatile playback singer S Janaki had recently announced her retirement from six-decades long singing profession with a lullaby in an upcoming Malayalam movie. The makers of Anoop Menon and Meera Jasmine's movie 10 Kalpanakal have now released the much awaited song in a grand launch ceremony in Abu Dhabi on October 4.

The song, which begins with the lines Ammapoovinum, has been composed by Mithun Eshwar and the lyrics have been penned by Roy Puramadam. It features Kaniha, Kavitha Nair, Anoop Menon and Shebin Benson, shot in beautiful high-ranges. 

"Finally my most awaited track got released Janaki amma'lullaby song " Amma poovinum " from the movie 10kalpanakal launched @ Abudhabi,wat an event,blessed ausum day,most memorable song do watch & lemme knw the feedbacks [sic]," Midhun wrote while sharing the video on his Facebook page.

The upcoming movie 10 Kalpanakal is the debut directorial venture of editor Don Max and also stars Thampi Antony, Prasanth Narayanan and Joju George in significant roles. While Sangeeth Jain has penned the screenplay, additional scripting has been done by Soorej and Neerej. Produced under the banner of Shutterbugs Entertainments by Manu Padmanabhan Nair, Jiji Anchani, Jacob Koeypuram and Biju Thoranathel, 10 Kalpanakal also marks the comeback of Meera after a short break.

However, after news of Janaki's retirement hit the headlines, it was misinterpreted by netizens who started spreading death rumours of the singer. Soon, popular singer SP Balasubrahmanyam came forward with a Facebook post in which he slammed the rumours about Janaki's health. "Since this morning lots of rumours about Smt. S. Janaki, the Nightingale's health condition. All fake. I just talked to her. She is hale and healthy better than ever. Spread the good news. I dont know how some idiots do this mischief. Sadistic *^#@$÷=?. Long live the queen of Melody [sic]," read the social media post by SPB.
