War on ‘Love Jihad’ escalates; MP government to bring law to counter the problem

The war over love-jihad rages after Uttar Pradesh-Haryana, Madhya Pradesh is the latest BJP ruled state that has promised to bring a law to counter the problem. The bill would likely be tabled in the next assembly session and Madhya Pradesh’s Home Minister states that there will be a provision of five years rigorous imprisonment for the violators.
[4:17 PM, 11/18/2020] Samridhi Tiwari: The Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh Narottam Mishra has said that the state government is preparing to introduce a bill against possible conversion. The bill will provide five years of rigorous imprisonment and also proposes that such crimes be declared cognisable offenses. Narottam Mishra introduced the bill and stated that the bill will provide five years of rigorous jail. Conversion is one such crime along with fraud and it will be dealt with as an offense.
