Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi’s husband, Robert Vadra, made a faux pas on Sunday, 12 May, when he took to Twitter to post a picture of his inked finger during the sixth phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections.
While everything else with the post was fine, an emoji wasn’t. The flag emoji shared with the message was supposed to be of the Indian tricolour, but instead, it was Paraguay’s flag that was mistakenly shared – with its red, white and blue colours.
Soon after, the post became viral and Paraguay was even trending on Twitter.
The post was later deleted, and Vadra put out another one having two pictures, where the Indian flag was correctly represented.
In another tweet, he addressed the matter saying, “India lives in my heart & I salute Tiranga. Using a Paraguay flag in my post was just an aberration. I very well know tht. You all know it was posted by mistake but u decided to play up my mistake whn thr r such glaring issues to be discussed. It saddens me, but never mind! [sic]”
