Actress Priyanka Chopra has been on the cover of several Indian and international magazines, but this time it’s special. She has become the first Indian woman to be featured on the cover of Vogue’s America edition in the month of January. The 126 year history of the magazine is about to change.
From Miss World to making it on Forbes 100 most influential people list, Priyanka has been escalating heights in recent times. The Quantico actress took to her Instagram page and posted a picture of the cover to show her excitement.
On the cover, she is seen wearing a golden neck plunging gown teamed with an animal print belt. Priyanka likes to keep her hair off her face and here also she decides to go for a loose bun look. On the makeup front, she flaunts her pouty red tinted lips and bronze eye makeup.
Vogue USA has recently started diversifying itself as a brand. Previously for its September issue, the magazine featured singer Beyonce on the cover. She was shot by the first ever black photographer for the magazine, Taylor Mitchell.
This came as a surprise as the magazine has found itself under the scanner for being accused of cultural and diversity appropriation issues in the past. Even with Priyanka's cover, the magazine received some flak on the social media for their sexist headline which reads, 'On breaking barriers and landing a man of her dreams.’
Apart from some shout outs of 'Way to go Priyanka' and 'Vogue you nailed it', the headline didn't go down well with some readers as they thought Priyanka has achieved way beyond marrying an American in her career and Vogue reduced her achievements by tagging her for landing a man of her dreams.
