A new day and a new plan from Vodafone. The telecom company has rolled out a new Rs 179 plan to offer unlimited calls and data to its prepaid users. Getting into the details, the plan along with unlimited calls and data also offers free roaming incoming calls and is valid for 28 days.
Now a little more info on this- the plan for now is available only in Bihar and Jharkhand circles. This means Voda users in Bihar and Jharkhand can only avail this plan. Next, the unlimited data includes only 2G data. Idea Cellular also has a similarly priced plan and it also offers 2G data. But Jio at Rs 149 offers unlimited 4G data. So in terms of data, Jio is a better option to choose. If we talk about only Bihar and Jharkhand, Jio 4G is available there but Vodafone and Idea do not have 4G service in all areas.
Coming back to the Vodafone Rs 179 plan, the company has put a limit on the calling limits. Jio and Airtel also have a similar capping in its unlimited calls to avoid misuse of the plan. Vodafone has capped the free voice calls to 250 minutes a day and 1000 minutes a week. Calls exceeding these limits will attract charge of 30 paisa per minute. Also, users can call on only 300 unique numbers during the validity period, over which they'll be charged 30 paisa per minute.
Speaking at the launch, Rajshekhar Metgud, business head- Bihar and Jharkhand, Vodafone India, said, "We are delighted to introduce Vodafone Super Plan with the key objective of offering a pocket friendly plan that will appeal to our prepaid customers in Bihar & Jharkhand. The new offer will enable them to remain confidently connected and enjoy a worry free Vodafone Internet experience on our best network ever. On behalf of entire Vodafone team, I also wish citizens of the region a very happy festive season."
Vodafone is giving a tough fight to its competitors. The telco recently launched a Rs 348 plan to counter Airtel and Jio plans at Rs 349 and Rs 399 respectively. The company offers 2GB data per day along with unlimited calls including roaming.
