VK Sasikala released from prison & pays tribute to Jayalalitha, AIADMK flag raises question

The chief of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), V.K. Sasikala's convoy touched down on Zuzuvadi's inter-State border arch and rolled into Tamil Nadu to the beats of 'chenda melams,' tune of 'nadaswarams,' and 'poorana kumbams' as she returned on Monday morning after completing a four-year prison sentence.

A happy coming of the flags of the AIADMK and the AMMK, blurring the lines between the two groups, was seen at the inter-State border as police struggled to control the crowd. Firecrackers also arrived at Cadre, some of which were confiscated by the police. The West Zone police at the border were ready to send a notice to her convoy for the removal of the flag as soon as it reached the border, amid video visuals of Ms. Sasikala leaving Bengaluru in a vehicle carrying the AIADMK flag. Ms. Sasikala was shifted into another vehicle just ahead of the Athibelle checkpost in Karnataka, a few hundred metres from the inter-state border, also adorning the AIADMK flag.
