Officials seized a bolero car but could not apprehend any of the accused.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) last month seized 10 kilogram of Marijuana worth Rs. 5 lakh and nabbed five people at Mazagon Dock Limited gates, Mumbai.
The officials said the incident took place at around 7 a.m. when the workers were entering through the barrier checking point of main gate located at dockyard road.
On-duty CISF personnel noticed suspicious activity of a person, identified as Mohan Rathore, and intercepted him and frisked him which led to the discovery of five packets of marijuana in two kg bags concealed in brown paper.
The officials said, Mohan, belonging from Karnataka, along with his two other accomplices, Prem Ram Das Rathore and Naresh Narayan Rathore were going to deliver the same in Mumbai.
"They unknowingly came at MDL. On hearing that their companion has been detained rest two ran away from the area mingling in the crowd," the officials said.
During enquiry, officials said, Mohan Rathore was receiving calls in his mobile from various numbers.
"An adequate trap was laid for apprehending others suspects. Mohan Das was directed to call other persons at SBI ATM located in front of MDL to collect the parcel. At about 11:45 am a taxi driver and two persons in Honda Activa came near. They all were nabbed by CISF personnel," officials said.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials were called by the CISF and on their arrival they were handed over to NCB officials with the seized Marijuana. (ANI)
