As the Lok Sabha Elections are on, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to every citizen, including top leaders from various fields, to cast their votes in 2019 general elections. The PM had also appealed to cricketers including Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli addressed the press ahead of the first ODI in Sydney. It was obvious that the India skipper would have been asked to react on a controversial episode of Koffee With Karan 6 which featured KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya. “We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers don't align with those views, those were individual opinions. We are still waiting for a decision to be made. From the Indian cricket team's point of view, this changes nothing in our beliefs in the change room, it does nothing to the spirit we have have been able to create. As per the latest report, KL Rahul has escaped the ban and Hardik Pandya could be banned for a couple of matches. The Indian team will have to wait for the BCCI’s decision for declaring their 12 member squad. Yesterday, it was COA Chief Vinod Rai who recommended a ban for both cricketers. “I am not convinced with Hardik's explanation and I have recommended a two-match ban for both players. However, the final decision will be taken once Diana gives her go ahead.” He also went on to say that Diana is looking out to explore legal options if the two cricketers can be banned or not. Following the outrage, the episode was removed from Hostar.
