In what has been heralded as a display of London’s defiant spirit in the face of danger, a man fled the scene of the terror attack on London Bridge Saturday night, pint in hand, as others frantically ran around him.

The scene was caught on video and a still image has gone viral as the United Kingdom deals with the aftermath of the second terrorist attack on British soil in two weeks. One photo of the scene has already been retweeted more than 36,000 times as of Monday morning.

The man holding the pint in the photo was identified by the Liverpool Echo as Paul Armstrong. Four men pictured running in the background of the photo are college students from California visiting London as a part of a three-week backpacking trip according to the Sacramento Bee.

The pint-holding man has been wildly praised online as an image of British resilience.
