The SHOCKING charges of rape against ‘Sanskaari’ Alok Nath has us all baffled, after Vinta Nanda’s allegations that the former had raped her in the absence of his wife. Here’s how Alok Nath’s wife has reacted to the same:
Tanushree Dutta‘s fearless confession of the sexual harassment that she had suffered through during the shoot of Horn OK Please, at the hands Nana Patekar, Ganesh Acharya and Rakesh Sarang has given rise to B-Town’s own #MeToo movement. And, while we aren’t that thrilled about the movement, we’re surely relieved that the affected victims have left the deafening silence behind and come forward to share their stories.
This has brought in some very shocking names to come into the light of reality. One of them being one of the most notable personalities Alok Nath, who has been accused of rape by popular TV writer-producer Vinta Nanda.
In an interview with a leading portal, Vinta said, “I wrote to vent out my feelings. The burden I had carried in my heart for years.”
Unfortunately, even when the writer had spoken fearlessly about the shameful act as and when the incident took place, a wave like #MeToo was not quite present during that era for her support.
“I spoke to friends, family members and I even wrote about it in La Officiel. Urvashi Ashar from Times interviewed me as well. But it was not the #MeToo movement era in the 90s,” she added.
Moreover, on being asked whether she ever confided in her best friend and wife of the accused Alok Nath. Vinta Nanda stated that she did indeed tell her everything, however Ashu Singh told her that she could hardly do anything about it.
“I spoke to his wife. She said she can’t say or do anything about it,” she told the website.
Meanwhile, public and media alikeight want this grave incident to be met with legal justice, however Vinta Nanda just wants the accused to regret and accept his crime and lastly, apologize to her publicly.
She said, “For me, I would like Alok Nath to come out there and accept what he did and say he is sorry. That is the change I would like to see.”
Just like Vinta Nanda, we too support those men and women who are coming forward and showing courage to tell their own stories of being victims at the hands of those abusing their power.
“Everyone who has been exploited must come out. The sound of silence is deafening. Trust me today I feel liberated,” she concluded.
