Villagers refuse to shift from flood-affected areas in Jalandhar over 'govt apathy'

Around 20 villages are badly affected after a dam breached due to heavy water flow in Punjab's Jalandhar. The flood-like situation has triggered evacuation from at least 85 villages. Villagers have refused to move their belonging as they are blaming the local authorities for not providing proper facilities during the flood-like situation. Several flood relief centers have been created to monitor the overall situation. Meanwhile, 'Langar' is also being prepared by the food supply teams. With news of release of 2 lakh cusecs of water from the Bhakra Dam, villagers got little time to prepare for evacuation.
