Thousands march on streets to observe Muharram

Thousands of people of Muslim community marched on the streets in different cities to observe mourning procession of Muharram today. People participated in self-flagellation to show their devotion and remembered the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, Hussain ibn Ali. Mourners used sharp objects like knives and chains for self-flagellation procession. They chanted 'Ya Hussain' in Arabic on streets during the procession. It is also marked as a holy day of Ashura for Muslims.
