The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has introduced the system of drone to check the mosquito infested areas of the city. The drone has been made by a Siliguri school student. MLA and Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Ashok Bhattacharya said that the drone will take the pictures of the stagnant water on terraces of high rise buildings if it is works. He said, it is just a trial run of the drone made by a local boy who made it by using his own technology and now this time many states are asking him about the projected dengue plan. Rajib Ghosh who made the drone said, it will detect stagnant water and garbage around Siliguri. According to health department report in the year of 2017, 1287 persons were infected with dengue positive and 4 persons lost their lives. Many were also admitted in Siliguri district hospital and North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) with dengue symptoms.
