Sikh memorial honoring those killed in the 1984 riots inaugurated

Shiromani Akali Dal President, Sukhbir Singh Badal inaugurated a Sikh memorial in New Delhi honoring scores of Sikhs who were killed during the 1984 Anti Sikh riots. While speaking to media persons in New Delhi, Badal said that the memorial would be a site to pay homage to all those who died in the macabre and gruesome riots of 1984. Ever since the acquittal of the prime accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Sajjan Kumar, members of the Sikh community have been vehemently demanding that the High Court must review this case and conduct a fresh trial to punish the guilty. However, the government is yet to react to this plea.
