SC allows Chennai-Delhi IPL match at Chepauk stadium

In a major relief for thousands of cricket fans with valid tickets, the Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed de-sealing of three stands at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai for today's IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils. The city municipal corporation had sealed the I, J and K stands on Sunday after the apex court vacated the stay granted by the Madras High Court in February. The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) had challenged the Chennai Corporation's action of sealing the three stands on the ground that they had been constructed without prior permission from the authorities concerned.
