Rehana becomes first woman from JandK's Poonch district to clear civil services exam

Rehana Bashir, who hails from a remote area in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, has become the first woman from the district to crack the coveted civil services exams. An MBBS graduate from Salwah village of Mendhar area in Poonch, she secured 187th rank in the overall merit list of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). While speaking to ANI, Bashir said, "We've fewer facilities but we aren't any less. I would like to tell children to not let this become an obstacle. Schools here need better infrastructure. If I get a posting here, I will definitely think about it. I am happy that my dream to serve people will now finally come true. I'm glad that so many girls from this region have now started preparing for civil services exam."
