Ravi Shankar Prasad says bill criminalizing 'triple talaq' is historic

The Union Cabinet on Friday briefed about the important bills which were approved by it today. The briefing was led by Union Minister of Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad who termed as the decisions as historic and said these decisions will have a long term impact in the growth of the country. Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2017 is made for the safety of the victim of 'triple talaq', Prasad said. The Cabinet has also replaced Indian Medical Council bill and introduced National Medical Commission bill, which will help in correcting the medical eco-system of the nation, Prasad added.
