Rare black panther spotted at Hemgir Forest Range

A black panther also known as Melanistic leopard was spotted for the first time at the Hemgir Forest Range under Sundargarh Forest Division in Odisha. The movement of the panther was captured by a camera traps installed in the forest. A leopard was also seen accompanying the black panther, while strolling the forest. Sundargarh DFO, Arun Kumar said, "The situation in the forest is very comfortable for wild beasts such as black panther because of presence of several ant-poching camps in the forest range".
