Protestors prevent milk from reaching Mumbai, demand price hike for dairy farmers

Workers of Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghtana spilled truck full of milk packets on the road near Pune in wee hours of Monday. The farmers' organisation was preventing milk from being supplied to Mumbai. The organisation has been on strike since July 16, restricting the distribution of milk in Maharashtra. Their demands are that dairy farmers should get a price hike for their supply and until their demands are not met, milk supply will not resume.
