Police cracks down on demonstrators protesting against Neelum-Jhelum project in PoK

Massive protests have erupted in the illegally occupied territory of PoK after the state police unleashed barbarity on locals who were compelled to take to roads in the line of their demands seeking termination of projects on river Neelum and Jhelum. The local police which largely works at the commands of Islamabad arrested around 60 protestors and manhandled many others. The protests over the issue flared up about two months ago to stop the illegal and indiscriminate diversion of water of the rivers that have adversely affected the environment as well lives of the people in the region.
