Union Minister for River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari attended the Namami Gange project review meeting in the national capital on Tuesday. Speaking to ANI, Nitin Gadkari said, "We have done review of Namami Gange projects ongoing in Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The review was related to the projects ongoing alongside River Ganga and its tributaries. Work is ongoing on war footing. Some projects are being done and tenders of some projects have been issued." 'Namami Gange Programme', is an Integrated Conservation Mission, approved as 'Flagship Programme' by the Union Government in June 2014 with budget outlay of Rs 20,000 Crore to accomplish the twin objectives of effective abatement of pollution, conservation and rejuvenation of National River Ganga.
