National award winner Kashmiri teacher advocates education for all

For Muneer Ahmad Khan, a Kashmiri teacher, who recently received a national award for merit, the honour feels nothing more than a lifetime achievement award. Hailing from the Gopal Pora village of Anantnag district, Khan's career spans a period of 26 years. Khan's relatives, family members and villagers are also elated and feel proud that he has been conferred with such a prestigious award. Having complete his post-graduation in Sociology from Kashmir University, Khan wanted to pursue a career in journalism, but later opted for teaching as his career path. He has inspired many in his village, including his daughter, who also aspires to win a national award like her father. Due to his sheer hard work and perseverance, Khan, later became the head master of the school. Khan, who strongly advocates education for all, strongly believes that education can solve many of the problems plaguing the country. People like Khan, who script their own success story, are an inspiration for many.
