At least 13 people died and 15 were injured after a Mexican military helicopter crashed in n a small town in the southern state of Oaxaca. The helicopter carrying top officials was surveying damage from an earthquake. The chopper was carrying Mexico's interior minister and the state governor who were assessing the damage. It landed on top of two vans in an open field. Though the senior officials survived but the crash left the town of Jamiltepec in a state of dismay and grief. Nearly a million homes and businesses were left without power in Mexico City and the south after the powerful earthquake while 50 homes were damaged in Oaxaca.
