Meet Bastar's braveheart Usha Kiran: First woman CRPF officer in Maoist-hit region

Meet 27-year-old Usha Kiran, the first Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) woman officer who has been deployed in Maoist hotbed Bastar. Kiran's deployment in the region comes in the wake of allegations of rape and assault on security forces in Chhattisgarh. Reportedly, Kiran is good for the tribal women who are terrified during raids in the insurgency-hit region. A former national athlete, who represented Delhi in triple jump, Kiran is one of the only two women CRPF officers on duty in Bastar.
