Maoists killed senior politicians in Chhattisgarh: Raman Singh

Chief Minister Raman Singh confirmed that Maoists killed nearly 16 people, including senior politicians and policemen, in state's restive Sukma District. The rebels ambushed a convoy of Congress leaders in restive area and reportedly killed Uday Mudaliar and Mahendra Karma, who was former Leader of Opposition in the Chhattisgarh assembly. Chhattisgarh Congress chief Nand Kumar Patel's body was recovered by the security forces from Darbha Ghat on Sunday. Nand Kumar Patel, PCC chief, and his son Dinesh were abducted by Maoists following an ambush on a convoy of Congress leaders in a dense forest in the district. Raman Singh also clarified that the state government has pressed helicopter into service to airlift the injured to Raipur for better treatment. Further he confirmed that veteran Congress leader Vidya Charan Shukla also sustained bullet injuries.
