Maoist attacks have become the most dreaded reality in the lives of people of Jharkhand, who are devoid of even basic amenities. In order to keep full control over the innocent villagers, the Maoists stall all kinds of development projects in the naxal infested regions like construction of roads, hospitals and schools, bringing the normal life to a standstill. Labourers fearing attacks by the ultras leave their work midway, leading to poor infrastructure facilities in the region. Locals complain that the incomplete work is creating problems for them, as they are unable to travel to the city due to poor condition of roads.
