Maharashtra IPS officer quits over 'communal, unconstitutional' CAB

A Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Mumbai resigned from his position against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019. "Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019 is against the spirit of Constitution. As Civil Disobedience Movement, I have decided to not attend office. Either my application for VRS should be accepted or my letter should be accepted as my letter of resignation," said Abdur Rahman while speaking to ANI. The Bill was passed in both of the Houses in the Parliament.
