Locals perform yoga wearing masks to protest against garbage dump

Locals in Uttarakhand's Haldwani protested against garbage dump by performing yoga while wearing masks with 90 lakh tones of garbage dumped around them. One of the locals said, "Behind us is 90 lakh tones of garbage dump. We are trying to perform at least one asana which prevents us from dying from the poisonous gas released from this dump. We have written so many times regarding this to authorities but none of them paid heed." These locals took this unique initiative on the 4th International Yoga Day, while making an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is on a visit to the state to shift illegal trenching ground from the area which causes inconvenience to the residents.
