Labourers in J&K’s Rajouri pin hopes on MGNREGA for livelihoods amid lockdown

Rajouri (J&K), May 23 (ANI): In the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) work has started in J&K’s Rajouri. Maximum unemployed labourers are living in these far-flung hilly areas of Kalakote sub Division of Rajouri. Labourers thanked the government for starting MGNREGA work. Additional allocation of Rs 40,000 crore in MGNREGA has been announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as part of the COVID-19 economic package.
